The Armies Are Almost Completed!
The horizon is darkening as the two great armies of Hastings960 are near completion. We are down to the final preparations, with only a few remaining stands of French Spear Infantry left to finish before this project is ready for the hill. The armies are currently mustering, their ranks swelling as they prepare for the final, legendary push.
We are almost at the breaking point — stay tuned, as the final announcement for the battle is coming soon. Keep your shields locked and your spears ready. Battle On!

The ranks are swelling at our headquarters, Fort Fieldhead, as bases pour in from every corner of the globe. Seeing these individual "Labours of Love" converge into a single, massive army is a breathtaking sight. Like a river finding the sea, Project Hastings960 is flowing together with unstoppable momentum. The muster is nearly complete. The battle is drawing near.

From the workshops of Cigar Box Battle in the USA to the command center at FORT FIELD HEAD, the foundation of our history has arrived!
This isn't just a gaming mat; it’s an imposing landscape measuring a massive 4.80 by 2m , 15.5 by 6.5 feet. When we deploy for the HASTINGS960, we’ll be lining up six of classic tables side-by-side to create a truly titanic arena for our three-on-three commander clash.

We must now announce that registration for participation is officially closed. Due to high demand, all available bases and unit assignments for this epic project have now been allocated.

The Norman Conquest is proceeding faster than Duke William himself! After launching our "call to arms", the wargaming community responded with incredible enthusiasm.
The Norman Conquest is proceeding faster than Duke William himself! After launching our "call to arms", the wargaming community responded with incredible enthusiasm.
When we announced our ambition to recreate the Battle of Hastings at a 1-to-1 scale using 16,000 PaperBoys, we knew it was a challenge. What we didn't anticipate was the sheer speed and passion of the wargaming community!
We are happy to confirm that within a staggering 72 hours of posting our proposal, nearly all the necessary figure bases have been claimed by volunteer Master Miniaturists.
This overwhelmingly positive response ensures that HASTINGS960 is not only happening but is proceeding with incredible momentum and success!

On November 5th, 2025, I asked myself a question that changed everything:
Can we recreate Hastings figure-for-figure?
To celebrate the upcoming anniversary (960th) and the Tapestry coming to Britain in Summer 2026 we decided to field a massive 16,000-figure engagement.
By utilising the unique strengths of PaperBoys, we realised we could finally achieve the "infinite" scale required for a 1-to-1 replica.
What started as a daring idea has evolved into a beautiful, community-driven reality. We are doing what has never been done before.
